Joyce Wu, PhD

Assistant Professor, Immunology

Dr. Wu is an Assistant Professor of Immunology at the University of Arizona.  She completed her undergraduate studies at National Taiwan University and earned her PhD at the University of Kentucky.  She performed postdoctoral fellowship training at Harvard University.  

Her current research includes Dysregulation of Immunity & Inflammation, Immunotherapy & Immune Intervention and Microbial Pathogenesis & Commensalism. These research areas are dedicated to the understanding of how commensal bacteria influence the inflammatory and immune response mediated by autoimmune disease. The goal of this work is focused on exploring the link between gut microbiota, mucosal immunity and autoimmune arthritis.

In addition to being on the Faculty of the University of Arizona Arthritis Center, Dr. Wu is also a member of the Center's Scientific Advisory Council.
