Jawad Bilal, MD
Dr. Bilal serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the UA Division of Rheumatology. He is also the Medical Director of the UA Arthritis Center Clinical Research Unit and the Associate Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Training Program. He completed his undergraduate degree at Government Degree College in Multan, Pakistan, in 2006 and his medical degree (MBBS) at Nishtar Medical College & Hospital, Pakistan, in 2012. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2017, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bilal performed his fellowship training in Rheumatology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson.
A multiple award winner, Dr. Bilal has earned the UA's Distinguished Research Award (twice), Outstanding Resident in Rheumatology Award, and Best New Investigator Poster Presentation. In addition, he was an honoree of the 22nd Annual Meeting of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), winner of the poster presentation competition at the National American College of Physicians Annual Meeting and co-award winner at the regional American College of Physicians Annual Meeting. He has also been recognized as a Young Achiever at the American College of Physicians Annual Meeting and was selected as a fellow-in-training member of Scientific Advisory Council, ACR/Rheumatology Research Foundation during his fellowship.
