Nicholas Bonazza, MD, MHA

Assistant Professor, Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

Dr. Nicholas A. Bonazza is an orthopedic surgeon with additional fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine and he currently treats patients for a variety of sports and activity-related injuries. He is Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. 

Dr. Bonazza earned his Bachelor of Science in biomedical/medical engineering from Duke University in 2008 and his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2013. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Penn State Health in 2019 and his orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in 2020. He also finished his master of arts in health/health care administration from Penn State World Campus in 2018.

Dr. Bonazza is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the BOLD leadership program, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Emerging Leaders Program of the American Orthopaedic Association. He was named among the Top Physicians Under 40 by the Pennsylvania Medical Society in 2023.

Dr. Bonazza is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
