Barbara Bode, MD
Dr. Bode is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the University of Arizona College of Medicine and Program Director in the Division of Rheumatology at Southern Arizona Veteran's Administration. A native of Michigan, she earned Bachelor’s Degrees in chemistry and zoology from Northern Arizona University in 1982 and her Medical Doctorate from the University of Arizona in 1986. She completed her Internal Medicine residency in Tucson in 1989 and her fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Arizona in 1991.
Her research interests involve randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled studies to evaluate the safeties and efficiencies of various drugs and acids in the treatment of patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and gout.
Dr. Bode is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians.
She has co-authored several articles in the American Journal of Medical Science, Arizona Geriatric Society, Arthritis Care and Research and Arthritis and Rheumatism on topics ranging from treatment of Systemic Sclerosis, Polymylagia Rheumatica, Scleroderma and the effects of exercise programs on range of motion and pain in patients with Osteoporosis.
Dr. Bode is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
