Carlos Tafich, MD

Dr. Tafich is a second year rheumatology fellow in the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson. He completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Mexico (summa cum laude) before going on to perform his residency in internal medicine at the University of Arizona. 

Prior to beginning his fellowship in rheumatology, Dr. Tafich served as an assistant professor of medicine in the University of Arizona Department of Medicine/Banner University Medicine. He held these positions from September 2016 - October 2022. 

While a practicing internist at the UArizona, Dr. Tafich served as Associate Internal Medicine Residency Program Director (south campus) in the Division of Geriatrics, General Medicine and Palliative Care. He has been a member of the UArizona College of Medicine's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and has been a Physician Champion for the All of Us Research program - a National Institutes of Health initiative. He has also been active in the RECOVER initiative - a research program for patients with long-COVID.

Dr. Tafich is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of General Internal Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine.
