Randy Raugh, PT, DPT has been a physical therapist for over 18 years. His physical therapy experience includes orthopedics, cardiopulmonary, and neurological rehabilitation in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings as well as nursing home care. For 27 years he worked at Canyon Ranch Health Resort, which included a role as Fitness Director/Physical Therapist for the Life Enhancement Program - an educational program for individuals interested in making healthy lifestyle changes. Randy has been promoting health for over 36 years.
Prior to Canyon Ranch he taught fitness at other premier health resorts such as Rancho La Puerta in Mexico and The Golden Door in California. At Canyon Ranch he was a lecturer providing continuing medical education units for visiting physicians and nurses as well as lay people. For the past 14 years he has been a presenter at occupational medicine conferences, hospitals, cruise ships and CEO groups on topics such as knee and joint health. He has 36 years of experience in leading group and individual exercise for individuals ranging from professional athletes to the terminally ill. Currently, Randy is a physical therapist in the Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic.
His areas of particular interest include lower extremity, spine and shoulder pain and pathology. His training includes a master’s degree in physical therapy from Northern Arizona University (NAU). He trained to prescribe and manufacture foot orthoses at NAU and Northwestern University. He received a clinical doctorate in physical therapy at Washington University in St. Louis.
Randy has been featured in Arthritis Today, U.S. News and World Report, GQ Magazine and others. Media appearances have included ESPN, the Discovery Channel, local news channels in Tucson and radio stations nationwide. He is the author of the book, Prime for Life: Functional Fitness for Ageless Living (Rodale, June 2009).
