Second Year Rheumatology Fellow Jawad Bilal, MBBS, Named to Rheumatology Research Foundation's Scientific Advisory Council

University of Arizona Division of Rheumatology second year fellow Jawad Bilal, MBBS has been named to the prestigious Rheumatology Research Foundation's Scientific Advisory Council.  The Rheumatology Research Foundation serves as one of the nation's largest sources of funds for rheumatology research.

Dr. Bilal completed his undergraduate degree at Government Degree College in Shujabad, Multan, Pakistan, in 2006 and his medical degree (MBBS) at Nishtar Medical College & Hospital, Pakistan, in 2012.  He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson in 2017, where he also served as Chief Resident.  Prior to beginning his fellowship, Dr. Bilal was a Research Chief in the UArizona Department of Internal Medicine.

A multiple award winner, Dr. Bilal has earned the UArizona's Distinguished Research Award, Outstanding Resident in Rheumatology Award, and Best New Investigator Poster Presentation. In addition, he was an honoree of the 22nd Annual International Meeting of International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), earned the Boston Distinguished Research Award (University of Arizona Winner), and was the  2015 Young Achiever at the American College of Physicians Annual Meeting.
