UAAC's 'Bear Down for Health: Sport and Science in the Era of COVID-19' Featured in Arizona Daily Star

Sep 8, 2020

Building upon a long tradition of mutual support, the University of Arizona Arthritis Center (UAAC) will once again team up with the UA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics as it introduces the 2020 University of Arizona Arthritis Center ‘Bear Down for Health: Sport and Science in the Era of COVID-19’ to benefit the UArizona Arthritis Center and its research efforts. This meaningful collaboration began upon Hall of Fame basketball coach Lute Olson’s arrival at the UArizona in 1983.  The partnership has helped raise nearly $2 million for arthritis research and education over the past 37 years.  This event is sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Robert G. Volz, Finley Distributing, the University of Arizona Arthritis Center Friends and UArizona Arthritis Center Advisory Board Chair Harold Tretbar, MD.

The Arizona Daily Star's Loni Nannini delves into the event and its relevance in the September 8 editions of the Star.  To view the article in its entirety, please click here.
