Dr. Saher Khalid is a rheumatology fellow in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, where she previously served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Palliative Medicine. Prior to starting her fellowship, she was the Division Lead for Population Health and played an active role in advancing primary care practices, including the implementation of opioid management guidelines and e-consult collaborations with rheumatology.

 

Dr. Khalid completed her medical degree at Combined Military Hospital Medical and Dental College in Lahore, Pakistan. She went on to complete her internal medicine internship and residency at Cleveland Clinic – Akron General in Ohio. Prior to fellowship, she also conducted research at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she contributed to the development of computerized biomarkers in progressive supranuclear palsy.

 

She has presented her clinical and research work nationally, including at the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology. Her recent presentations and publications span topics such as IgG4-related disease, seronegative Sjögren’s syndrome, fibromyalgia mimics, and sedation modalities in endoscopy. She was the recipient of the 2023 Torchbearer Award by Women in Medicine and Science and is a current fellow of the SSWIMS (Spurring Success for Women in Medicine and Science) program.
