PRESENTER: Edwin Aquino, MD & Zaynb Hassan, MD
TOPIC: Difficult Cases

Edwin Aquino, MD completed his Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Arizona and joined the UA Division of Rheumatology faculty as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in March, 2017. He completed a six-year medical program on the Dean's List and earned his Medical Doctorate at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 2014. Dr. Aquino is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Dominican Medical College and has been awarded the Clinical Vignette Presentation Award by the American College of Physicians. He was honored as the R1 of the Year.

Zaynb Hassan, MD is a second-year Rheumatology Fellow in the University of Arizona's College of Medicine. She completed a six-year medical program and earned her Medical Doctorate at the University of Baghdad. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University in 2014. Her research interests include: hospitalization causes and outcomes in individuals with systemic lupus erythematosus, the utility of antinuclear antibody testing in inpatient populations, risk factors for disability in low back pain using Oswestry disability scale, and Fibromyalgia syndrome among patients with bronchial asthma. She is a member of the Iraqi Medical Association and the Society of Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, and Handicapped Care.
